FireSafe-FSE fireproofing

FireSafe-FSC Fireproofing Coating

FireSafe-FSC Fireproofing Coating is a highly efficient, water-based flame retardant that significantly expands when exposed to fire, forming a dense, carbonized layer that effectively prevents the spread of flames. This coating is not only water-resistant and freeze-resistant but also resists radiation, contamination, and smoke toxicity. It’s easy to apply and boasts a long-lasting performance of over 40 years.

Applications of FSC Fireproofing Coating

FSC Fireproofing Coating is essential for enhancing fire safety in various building applications. From protecting cables against rapid fire spread to fortifying wall penetrations, our innovative coating solutions address critical safety challenges.

Effective Fire Protection for Cables with Fire-Resistant Coatings

Fire-Resistant Coatings for Cable Protection: Applying fire-resistant coatings to cable surfaces is an effective way to prevent the rapid spread of fire along cable lines.

The Fire Hazards of Cable Materials: Cable insulation and sheath materials, such as polyethylene, PVC, cross-linked polyolefin, and ethylene propylene rubber, are highly flammable. These materials are easily ignited due to short circuits, overheating, or exposure to other fire sources. Once ignited, the flames can spread quickly, at speeds of up to 20 meters per minute, causing significant damage to surrounding facilities and buildings. This rapid spread of fire is often accompanied by melting drips and the release of toxic gases, leading to severe economic losses and casualties.

Fire Protection Solutions for Cables: To address the fire risks associated with cable materials, various fire-retardant products and systems have been developed. These include fireproof paints, fire-rated cable trays, fire-resistant cables, and fire-resistant cladding. Among these, coating cables with fire-resistant paint is one of the most cost-effective methods to enhance fire safety and prevent flame propagation.

Improved Wall Penetration Protection with Coated Fireproof Boards

Application in Fireproof Boards: Fire-resistant coatings are applied to the surface of fireproof boards, making them ideal for sealing large cavities such as those found in electrical panel cabinets and cable shafts.

Challenges with Traditional Methods: During construction, walls often require openings for cables and pipelines, leaving large gaps that need to be sealed. In the past, cement was commonly used to fill these gaps. However, the rigidity of cement made it difficult to disassemble or reinstall cables and pipes later on.

Modern Solutions: Today, fireproof boards coated with fire-resistant paint are widely used to seal these large openings. This method not only improves the thermal insulation of the boards but also addresses issues like chipping in boards with less dense pore structures, ensuring a more durable and effective fire barrier.

Types and Mechanisms of Fireproof Coatings

Fireproof coatings are primarily categorized into two types: intumescent and ablative. Intumescent fireproof coatings work by forming a dense, carbonized layer upon exposure to heat, effectively insulating the substrate from heat and preventing combustion and pyrolysis. Ablative fireproof coatings, on the other hand, utilize non-combustible or flame-retardant properties along with the release of inert gases at high temperatures to dilute flammable gas concentrations and absorb heat, thereby reducing the combustion temperature and protecting the underlying substrate.

Advanced Protection with FireSafe-FSC

FireSafe-FSC harnesses the best attributes of both intumescent and ablative technologies to deliver superior fireproof performance. We provide detailed fire retardant performance data of our coatings in accordance with GB 28374-2012 standards. Additionally, we offer fire resistance performance data for fireproof coated boards produced using FireSafe-FSC, enabling users to make informed decisions based on comprehensive and reliable information.

environmental resistance of FSC Fireproofing Coating

Cable fireproof coatings are developed based on the unique needs of cable protection, differing significantly from coatings used for steel or wood structures. Unlike these common fireproof coatings, cable fireproof coatings are designed to protect substrates that are often made of rubber and other organic resins. Therefore, they require different standards for adhesion and mechanical properties. These coatings are frequently used in environments such as substations, cable trenches, and humid areas, making environmental protection, resistance to humidity, heat, and low-toxicity combustion fumes crucial considerations.

In addition to the decorative and fireproof functions of ordinary coatings, cable fireproof coatings must possess good mechanical properties, resistance to expansion and contraction, and should not corrode the outer layers of cable materials. They must also offer high resistance to water, acid, alkali, mildew, and weather, while generating minimal smoke and toxicity during combustion. As functional coatings, they must meet the dual demands of protecting the substrate and withstanding challenging environmental conditions.

The FireSafe-FSC fireproof coating is free from halogens, sulfur, and other toxic components, making it safe, environmentally friendly, and non-corrosive. Its specially modified formula provides exceptional durability under various harsh working conditions.
